Oral health is a key factor in any athlete’s performance. An infection, a poor bite or gum inflammation can lie behind recurring muscle injuries and slower recovery. We work with athletes of every level to make their mouth their best ally.
Custom mouthguards
In contact or impact sports, protection isn’t negotiable. We make custom mouthguards that fit your anatomy, let you speak and breathe normally during exertion, and absorb and distribute impact to protect your teeth, lips and jaw. How they’re made.
Protection by discipline
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all: we adapt the thickness and material to each sport.
- Extreme contact (boxing, MMA, rugby): several layers of impact absorption, to protect the teeth and cushion blows affecting the jaw.
- Team sports (hockey): reinforced frontal protection against impacts from the ball or stick, with a design that allows clear speech.
- Court sports (basketball, football): lightness and optimal breathing, against accidental elbow knocks or falls.
Mouthguards can be personalised with your team or flag colours, your name, your number or your club’s logo, permanently built in.
Systemic health and sport
- Infection sources: bacteria from the mouth can enter the bloodstream and cause inflammation that leads to strains or muscle overload. That’s why looking after your gums in periodontics is also looking after your performance.
- Hygiene and hydration: isotonic drinks, energy gels and the dry mouth caused by exertion increase the risk of decay and erosion. We help you offset this without giving up your sports nutrition.
- Bite balance: poor alignment can create tension in the temporomandibular joint that carries through to the spine, affecting balance and power.
If, despite preventive measures, you suffer a knock while playing sport, see our dental trauma page to know how to act.

Frequently asked questions
Isn't a pharmacy mouthguard enough?
Generic boil-and-bite mouthguards offer less protection, make speaking and breathing harder, and tend to come loose. A custom mouthguard is scanned from your own anatomy and adjusted to your sport and level of demand.
How often does a mouthguard need replacing?
In adults, when it wears out or loses its fit, usually every 2-3 years. In children and teenagers, with every relevant change in dentition, since the mouth is still growing.
What's the connection between the mouth and a muscle injury?
A dental infection or a poor bite can cause inflammation and tension that transfers to the muscles, contributing to strains or recurring injuries that, on the surface, seem unrelated to the mouth.
